The exciter oil on the BPU3545 must be changed after every 300 operating hours to ensure maximum protection of the exciter assembly.
The bearings in the exciter assembly are splash lubricated and rotate at very high speed (up to 4150 rpm). It is important to maintain the exciter oil at the proper level and change it regularly to ensure maximum protection.
To drain the oil, use an 8mm allen wrench and remove the plug on the right side of the baseplate. Tip machine towards the drain opening, or use a suction gun to siphon oil out.
When filling, position the plate compactor on a level surface. Add oil through the drain hole. Fill exciter until oil level is even with drain opening.
Do not overfill the exciter case.
