The shoe takes the brunt of the compaction force on the rammers. If you are using the wrong shoe or it is not properly fastened to the leg, it can cause unnecessary wear on your machine. Shoes can also sometimes crack or chip without warning causing the machine to compact irregularly leading to downtime. Always make sure the shoe you are using is made for the machine. Shoes can look similar but their mounting patterns or style can vary.
