The rim is the structural wheel component that supports the tire and transfers the machine's load and drive force to the ground. On a single drum roller like the BW 145 series, a sound rim is essential for maintaining proper tire seating, even compaction pressure, and stable machine handling. A bent, cracked, or corroded rim can lead to tire bead failure, uneven compaction patterns, and increased stress on wheel-end components — making timely replacement critical to keeping the roller operating as intended.
