The Honda 06540-VG4-B01 Clutch Cable Kit is a genuine OEM replacement designed for HRR216 and HRT216 lawn mowers. As a direct Honda OEM component, this kit delivers the exact cable routing, length, and hardware needed to restore proper clutch engagement on these mowers. Verify your mower's serial number against the fitment table before ordering, as Honda updates part numbers at serial breaks and this kit may not apply to every production run of these models.
Key Features
- Genuine Honda OEM Quality — engineered to Honda's original clutch cable specifications, ensuring consistent cable tension and engagement feel across the full range of operation
- Complete Kit — includes the cable and associated hardware as a matched set, so you have everything needed to perform the replacement in a single service step
- Confirmed Fitment — built for HRR216 and HRT216 Honda lawn mowers; check your serial number against the compatibility table to confirm this kit applies to your unit's production range
- Clutch System Reliability — a worn or frayed clutch cable causes sluggish blade engagement, loss of drive control, or complete failure to disengage; replacing with an OEM kit restores the crisp, predictable response the mower was designed to deliver
The clutch cable is the mechanical link between the operator's handle bail and the blade or drive clutch mechanism on a walk-behind mower. When the operator squeezes the bail, the cable transmits that motion to engage or disengage the blade and self-propel systems. Over time, cables stretch, fray, or develop kinks that cause sluggish response or prevent the system from fully engaging or releasing. Replacing the cable kit restores the precise, positive action that keeps the mower both efficient and controllable during operation.
