The Honda 12320-ZA0-000 Head Cover Washer is a genuine OEM replacement designed for EL5000 and ES6500 generators, the EX5500 generator, and GX360 horizontal shaft engines. As a direct Honda OEM component, this washer meets the same standards as the part originally installed at the factory. Confirm your machine's serial number against the fitment table before ordering, as Honda supersedes parts at specific serial breaks and fitment can vary within a model line.
Key Features
- Genuine Honda OEM — sourced directly from Honda, this washer matches the original specification for part number 12320-ZA0-000, ensuring the correct dimensions and seating behavior at the head cover.
- Broad Fitment — fits EL5000 and ES6500 generators, the EX5500 generator, and GX360 horizontal shaft engines, covering several units across Honda's generator and engine lines.
- Serial Number Verification Recommended — Honda updates part supersessions at serial number breaks; confirm your unit's serial number against the fitment table to make sure this is the correct washer for your machine.
- Proper Seal at the Head Cover — a worn or incorrect washer can allow oil seepage at the head cover joint; using the correct OEM replacement helps maintain a proper seal and keeps the engine running cleanly.
The head cover washer sits beneath the head cover fastener, providing a controlled seating surface that helps the fastener clamp the cover evenly against the engine. Without a properly functioning washer in this location, the fastener can pull unevenly, compromising the seal between the head cover and the engine and leading to oil leaks. Replacing a damaged or degraded washer with the correct OEM part restores the clamping geometry the cover relies on to seat correctly.
