The Honda 16100-ZF6-V42 is a genuine OEM Carburetor Assembly (BE87G B) designed for GX390 horizontal shaft engines. As a direct Honda OEM component, this carburetor assembly is manufactured to the same specifications as the original unit it replaces, ensuring the correct fuel metering, jetting, and air-fuel ratio for the GX390. Honda supersedes carburetor assemblies at serial breaks, so confirm your engine's serial number against the fitment table before ordering to ensure part number 16100-ZF6-V42 is the right variant for your unit.
Key Features
- Correct Fuel Metering — genuine OEM construction means the jets, needle, and emulsion circuits are calibrated specifically for GX390 engines, not adapted from a generic specification.
- Variant-Specific Fit — the BE87G B designation identifies this as a specific carburetor variant; check your existing unit's markings to confirm this is the correct assembly for your engine.
- Serial Number Matters — Honda issues different carburetor assemblies across GX390 production runs; always verify your engine serial number against the fitment table before ordering.
- Restored Engine Response — a worn or gummed carburetor causes hard starting, rough running, and poor throttle response; replacing it with this assembly returns the GX390 to proper fuel delivery and smooth operation.
The carburetor is responsible for mixing fuel and air in the correct proportion before delivering the mixture to the engine's combustion chamber. On a GX390 horizontal shaft engine, the carburetor must maintain precise fuel metering across idle, mid-range, and full-throttle conditions to keep the engine running cleanly under load. When a carburetor wears, clogs with varnish deposits, or develops internal leaks, the result is hard starting, erratic idling, fuel flooding, or a loss of power — problems that a correctly specified replacement assembly directly resolves.
