The Honda 17220-ZS9-020 Air Cleaner Housing is a genuine OEM component designed for Honda EB2500, EB3000, EM2500, EM3000, and EU3000 generators. As a direct Honda OEM part, it matches the original housing removed from your unit, ensuring the air cleaner assembly seats and seals correctly without modification. This part covers a range of conventional generators and the EU3000 inverter generator — confirm your model and serial number against the fitment table before ordering to be certain you have the right housing for your unit.
Key Features
- Genuine Honda OEM Construction — manufactured to the same specification as the original housing, so the air cleaner element and filter cover mount exactly as intended
- Correct Airflow Sealing — a properly fitted housing keeps unfiltered air out of the intake, protecting the engine from dust and debris that accelerate internal wear
- Broad Generator Compatibility — covers EB2500, EB3000, EM2500, EM3000, and EU3000 generators, including both conventional and inverter models in that lineup
- Serial Number Verification Recommended — Honda updates parts at production serial breaks, so cross-check your generator's serial number against the fitment table to confirm this is the correct housing for your specific unit
The air cleaner housing is the structural shell that encloses the air filtration system on these generators. It holds the filter element in position, channels incoming air through the element before it reaches the carburetor, and seals the assembly against the surrounding environment. When the housing is cracked, warped, or missing, unfiltered air bypasses the element entirely — allowing abrasive particles into the combustion chamber and causing accelerated cylinder and piston wear. Replacing a damaged housing restores the integrity of the entire air filtration system and keeps the generator running cleanly.
