The Honda 17231-Z11-010 Air Cleaner Cover is a genuine OEM replacement designed for EB5000 and EM5000 generators, EB7000, EM7000, and EU6500 inverter generators. As a direct Honda OEM component, this cover is manufactured to the exact dimensions and specifications of the original, ensuring a proper fit over the air cleaner assembly. This part fits across a range of Honda generators, so confirm your model and serial number against the fitment table before ordering.
Key Features
- Genuine Honda OEM — sourced directly from Honda, this cover matches the original in every dimension, so the air cleaner housing seals correctly and the element stays protected
- Exact-Fit Replacement — engineered to drop into place on compatible Honda generators without modification, restoring the housing to its original configuration
- Broad Generator Coverage — fits the EB5000 and EM5000 generators and the EB7000, EM7000, and EU6500 inverter generators, spanning Honda's mid- to large-output portable generator range
- Serial Number Matters — Honda updates parts at production breaks, so check your generator's serial number against the fitment table to confirm part number 17231-Z11-010 is correct for your specific unit
The air cleaner cover is the outermost housing that encloses and protects the air cleaner element on a generator. It keeps dirt, debris, and moisture away from the filter, allowing the engine to draw in clean air for combustion. When the cover is cracked, warped, or missing, unfiltered air can bypass the element and reach the engine, accelerating internal wear and affecting performance under load.
