The Honda 17510-ZK6-881ZA Fuel Tank (Mat Black) is a genuine OEM component designed for GX340 and GX390 horizontal shaft engines. As a direct Honda OEM part, it is manufactured to the same specifications as the original, ensuring a proper fit without modification. This fuel tank is finished in mat black and is intended for the specific serial ranges listed in the fitment table — verify your engine's serial number before ordering, as Honda supersedes parts at production breaks and more than one tank variant may share the same model designation. Confirm part number 17510-ZK6-881ZA against your engine's parts diagram to be certain this is the correct tank for your unit.
Key Features
- Genuine Honda OEM — sourced directly from Honda, this tank matches the original part in dimensions, mounting points, and finish, so it installs exactly as the unit it replaces.
- Mat Black Finish — the (Mat Black) designation identifies this as a specific color variant; confirm your engine carries the same finish before purchasing, as alternate tank colors are catalogued separately.
- Correct Fitment for GX340 and GX390 Engines — built for GX340 and GX390 horizontal shaft engines; cross-reference your engine's serial number against the fitment table to confirm applicability.
- Serial Number Verification Recommended — Honda revises fuel tank specifications across production runs, so checking your engine's serial number against the compatibility table is the surest way to confirm this is the right tank for your engine.
The fuel tank stores the gasoline supply that feeds the engine's carburetor during operation. It must seal completely to prevent leaks and maintain consistent fuel delivery — a cracked, damaged, or deteriorated tank can starve the engine of fuel, cause hard starting, or create a hazardous leak. Replacing a damaged tank with the correct OEM unit restores the fuel system's integrity and keeps the engine running as intended.
