The Honda 17670-899-000 Fuel Filter is a genuine OEM replacement designed for GX160, GX240, GX340, GX390, and GX620 horizontal shaft engines, as well as EB3500 and EM3500 generators and the EXW171 welder generator. As a Honda OEM component, this fuel filter meets the same standards as the part originally installed at the factory, ensuring a direct, hassle-free swap with no modifications needed. Confirm your machine's serial number against the fitment table before ordering, as Honda supersedes parts at serial breaks and more than one version may exist for your model.
Key Features
- Genuine OEM Filtration — Honda OEM construction delivers the correct micron rating and flow capacity for the fuel systems on these engines and generators, protecting injectors and carburetors from contaminants that cause rough running and hard starts.
- Broad Fitment — a single part number covers GX160, GX240, GX340, GX390, and GX620 horizontal shaft engines, plus EB3500 and EM3500 generators and the EXW171 welder generator, including many serial ranges across those models.
- Direct OEM Replacement — designed to connect into the existing fuel line without adapters or cutting, restoring the original fuel delivery path exactly as Honda intended.
- Serial Number Verification Recommended — Honda updates part fitment at production serial breaks, so matching your unit's serial number to the compatibility table ensures you receive the right filter for your specific build.
A fuel filter sits inline between the fuel tank and the carburetor or fuel system, trapping dirt, debris, and fine particulates before they can reach precision fuel metering components. On engines and generators alike, even small amounts of contamination can clog jets or fuel passages, leading to lean running, surging, or a complete failure to start. Replacing a clogged or degraded fuel filter restores full, clean fuel flow and helps the engine or generator run at its intended output without hesitation or fuel starvation.
