Verify your tiller's serial number against the fitment table to confirm this is the correct filter for your specific unit before ordering.
Key Features
- Genuine OEM Filtration — sourced directly from Honda, this filter delivers the particle-trapping performance Honda engineers specified for these tillers, keeping contaminants out of the fuel circuit
- Direct-Fit Replacement — designed as an exact match for the original, this part installs without modification on the F400, F401, F500, F501, FR500, FR600, FR700, FR800, and FRC800 tillers
- Serial Number Awareness — Honda supersedes parts at production breaks, so confirm your tiller's serial number against the fitment table to be sure part number 17672-887-791 is the right filter for your machine
- Engine Protection — a clogged or failed fuel filter starves the engine of clean fuel, causing hard starts, rough running, and accelerated wear on carburetor components; replacing it on schedule keeps fuel delivery consistent
A fuel filter sits in the fuel line between the tank and the carburetor, trapping dirt, rust particles, and debris before they reach the engine's fuel system. On a tiller working in dusty, demanding conditions, contaminated fuel is a common source of carburetor problems and rough engine behavior. When the filter becomes clogged or its internal element degrades, fuel flow is restricted, leading to lean-running conditions, hard starts, and potential damage to the carburetor's precision jets and passages. Replacing a worn filter with a genuine Honda unit restores clean, unrestricted fuel delivery and protects the engine from the inside out.
