The Honda 17910-Z6L-000 Throttle Cable is a genuine OEM Throttle Cable designed for GX630, GX660, and GX690 horizontal shaft engines. As a direct Honda OEM component, this cable is manufactured to the same specification as the original, ensuring accurate throttle response and a proper fit within the engine's throttle linkage system. This part is a direct replacement for the original cable on compatible engines — confirm your engine model and serial number against the fitment table before ordering.
Key Features
- Genuine Honda OEM — sourced directly from Honda, this Throttle Cable matches the original in length, end-fitting geometry, and travel distance, delivering the precise throttle response the engine was designed for.
- Direct Replacement — built to the same specification as the part it replaces, this cable installs without modification on compatible GX630, GX660, and GX690 horizontal shaft engines.
- Throttle Control Restored — a worn or frayed throttle cable causes erratic governor response, difficulty holding a set speed, or a stuck throttle; replacing it with this OEM cable restores clean, consistent control.
- Serial Number Verification Recommended — Honda supersedes parts at production serial breaks, so check your engine's serial number against the fitment table to confirm part number 17910-Z6L-000 is correct for your unit.
The throttle cable is the mechanical link between the operator's throttle control and the carburetor's throttle valve. As the cable moves, it opens or closes the throttle valve to regulate the air-fuel mixture entering the engine, which in turn controls engine speed and power output. When the cable stretches, frays, or breaks, the engine may lose the ability to hold a steady speed, surge under load, or fail to respond to throttle input — any of which makes the equipment it powers unreliable or unusable.
