The Honda 18310-Z0S-V01 Muffler is a genuine OEM replacement designed for GX120 horizontal shaft engines. As a direct Honda OEM component, this muffler is manufactured to the exact specifications of the original unit it replaces, ensuring a proper fit without modification. Confirm your engine's serial number against the fitment table to verify this is the correct muffler for your specific GX120 build.
Key Features
- Genuine Honda OEM — sourced directly from Honda, this muffler matches the original exhaust outlet dimensions and mounting configuration of the GX120 engine exactly as it left the factory.
- Correct Exhaust Backpressure — an OEM muffler maintains the exhaust flow characteristics the GX120 was tuned for, preserving power output and fuel efficiency that an ill-fitting or damaged unit would compromise.
- Serial Number Verification Recommended — Honda updates parts at production serial breaks; check your GX120 serial number against the fitment table before ordering to confirm part number 18310-Z0S-V01 is the right application for your unit.
- Restores Proper Noise Attenuation — a cracked, corroded, or missing muffler allows unfiltered exhaust noise and fumes to escape; replacing it with this OEM unit returns the engine to its intended operating sound level.
The muffler is the final stage of the engine's exhaust system. Hot exhaust gases produced during combustion travel from the cylinder head through the exhaust port and into the muffler, where internal baffling dissipates pressure and reduces noise before the gases exit to atmosphere. When a muffler cracks, corrodes through, or loses its mounting integrity, exhaust noise increases sharply, fumes may vent in unintended directions, and the disrupted backpressure can affect engine performance. Replacing a failed muffler with the correct OEM unit restores safe, quiet, and efficient exhaust operation.
