The Honda 18321-V09-A01 Muffler Protector (Upper) is a genuine OEM replacement built for HA4118 and HA4120 lawn tractors. As a direct Honda OEM component, this protector is manufactured to the same standards as the original part, ensuring an exact match in form for the machines it covers. Confirm your tractor's serial number against the fitment table before ordering, as Honda supersedes parts at serial breaks and fitment can vary within a model line.
Key Features
- Genuine Honda OEM Construction — sourced directly from Honda, this protector matches the original specification for HA4118 and HA4120 lawn tractors, with no guesswork on fit or form.
- Upper Shield Coverage — designed as the upper muffler protector, this component occupies the specific position Honda engineered for heat shielding above the muffler assembly on these tractors.
- Serial Number Verification Recommended — Honda updates parts at production serial breaks, so cross-check your tractor's serial number against the compatibility table to confirm this is the correct upper protector for your unit.
- Prevents Operator Contact with Hot Surfaces — a damaged or missing upper muffler protector leaves the hot muffler exposed; replacing it with this OEM part restores the barrier Honda designed into these tractors.
The muffler protector (upper) is a heat shield fitted over the upper portion of the exhaust muffler on the HA4118 and HA4120 lawn tractors. The muffler itself reaches high operating temperatures during normal use, and the protector acts as a physical barrier between that hot surface and anything that might come into contact with it — including grass clippings, debris, and the operator. When the protector cracks, warps, or goes missing, the muffler is left exposed, creating a burn and fire risk during operation. Replacing a worn or damaged upper protector with this genuine Honda part restores the shielding Honda originally engineered into these machines.
