The Honda 18321-Z11-A00ZA Muffler Protector (Outer) (Mat Black) is a genuine OEM component designed for EB5000 and EM5000 generators and EB7000 and EM7000 inverter generators. As a direct Honda OEM part, it matches the original in fit, finish, and color, ensuring the generator is returned to its factory condition. Verify your unit's serial number against the fitment table before ordering, as Honda supersedes parts at serial breaks and this Mat Black finish is a specific variant.
Key Features
- Genuine OEM Heat Shield Match — sourced directly from Honda, this protector delivers the correct outer profile and Mat Black finish for a clean, original-appearance restoration on your generator
- Color-Specific Variant — the Mat Black designation is a distinct factory finish; confirm this matches your unit before purchasing, as other color variants exist
- Broad Generator Fitment — fits EB5000 and EM5000 conventional generators as well as EB7000 and EM7000 inverter generators; check your serial number against the fitment table to confirm the correct supersession for your machine
- Burn and Contact Protection — a properly fitted outer muffler protector shields operators and surrounding components from the muffler's surface heat, reducing the risk of accidental contact burns during and after operation
The outer muffler protector is a heat-shielding cover that surrounds the exterior of the muffler assembly on these Honda generators. Because the muffler reaches high operating temperatures during use, this protector acts as a barrier between the hot metal surface and anyone working near the unit, as well as adjacent wiring, hoses, or surfaces. When the protector is cracked, missing, or damaged, the exposed muffler surface becomes a burn hazard and the surrounding components are at risk from radiant heat — replacing it promptly restores the safe and complete condition of the generator.
