The Honda 23551-750-000 Fifth Change Gear (32T) is a genuine OEM component designed for HT3810, HT3813, and HT4213 lawn tractors. As a direct Honda OEM part, it is manufactured to the same specifications as the original, ensuring proper engagement within the transmission. This 32-tooth gear is the correct replacement for any of the three supported HT-series tractor models, and buyers should confirm their machine's serial number against the fitment table before ordering, as Honda supersedes parts at specific serial breaks.
Key Features
- Genuine OEM Gear Tooth Geometry — the 32-tooth count and tooth profile are held to Honda's original specifications, ensuring correct mesh with mating gears in the transmission
- Direct OEM Replacement — this part drops into the fifth-speed position of the HT3810, HT3813, and HT4213 lawn tractor transmissions without modification
- Serial Number Verification Recommended — Honda updates part specifications at production serial breaks; always match your tractor's serial number to the fitment table to confirm this is the correct gear for your unit
- Transmission Integrity — a worn or damaged fifth-speed gear causes missed shifts, gear slip, or loss of top-speed drive range; replacing it with the correct OEM part restores smooth, positive engagement
The Fifth Change Gear (32T) is one of the stepped gears inside the lawn tractor's sliding-mesh or constant-mesh transmission, responsible for establishing the fifth speed ratio between the engine and the drive wheels. When this gear is engaged, it determines how much torque and speed the tractor delivers at that setting. A gear with worn, chipped, or damaged teeth cannot engage cleanly, leading to noisy operation, slipping under load, or the inability to hold fifth gear at all — symptoms that put unnecessary strain on surrounding transmission components and reduce the tractor's ability to cover ground efficiently.
