The Honda 30500-ZDJ-003 Ignition Coil Assembly is a genuine OEM component designed for the GXR120 horizontal shaft engine. As a direct Honda original part, it is manufactured to the same specification as the unit installed at the factory, ensuring the correct air gap, output voltage, and trigger timing for the GXR120. Confirm your engine's serial number against the fitment table before ordering, as Honda supersedes ignition components at specific serial breaks.
Key Features
- Correct Spark Output — engineered specifically for the GXR120, this ignition coil assembly delivers the right voltage and trigger signal for consistent, reliable ignition under load
- Genuine OEM Construction — manufactured by Honda to original design tolerances, covering the coil windings, primary and secondary circuits, and the integrated trigger module as a matched assembly
- Direct OEM Replacement — part number 30500-ZDJ-003 installs in place of the original unit with no modification; confirm your engine serial number against the fitment table to ensure this is the correct supersession for your build
- Fitment — designed for GXR120 horizontal shaft engines; check your serial number before ordering, as Honda updates ignition assemblies across production serial ranges
The ignition coil assembly generates the high-voltage electrical pulse that fires the spark plug at precisely the right moment in the engine's combustion cycle. On the GXR120, it combines the primary coil, secondary coil, and an integrated electronic trigger into a single serviceable unit — when the magnet on the flywheel passes the coil, it induces a current that the coil steps up to thousands of volts to jump the spark plug gap. When the coil degrades, symptoms include hard starting, misfiring under load, or a complete no-spark condition; replacing the assembly with the correct OEM unit restores the engine's ignition output to its original specification.
