The Honda 42739-VG4-T00 Caster Lock Spring is a genuine OEM replacement designed for the HRZ216 lawn mower. Sourced directly from Honda, this part meets the exact specifications of the original component it replaces. Check the serial number on your HRZ216 against the fitment table to confirm this is the correct spring for your unit before ordering.
Key Features
- Genuine Honda OEM — manufactured to Honda's original specifications, ensuring the spring delivers the correct tension and engagement for the caster lock mechanism on the HRZ216.
- Direct Replacement — engineered to drop in place of the original, restoring the caster lock to proper function without modification.
- HRZ216 Fitment — designed specifically for the HRZ216 lawn mower; reference part number 42739-VG4-T00 when ordering to confirm the match.
- Serial Number Verification Recommended — Honda updates parts at production serial breaks, so cross-check your mower's serial number against the fitment table to ensure this is the right spring for your unit.
The caster lock spring provides the tension needed to hold the caster wheel assembly in a fixed or swiveling position, depending on the operator's setting. When this spring weakens or breaks, the caster lock loses its holding force, causing the wheel to shift unpredictably during mowing and reducing the operator's ability to control cutting direction. Replacing a worn spring restores consistent, positive locking action so the mower tracks and maneuvers as intended.
