The Honda 42740-ZB4-000 is a genuine OEM Left Wheel Shaft designed for Honda EB3500, EB5000, EB6500, EM3500, EM5000, EW140, and EW171 generators and welder generators. As a direct Honda OEM replacement, this part is produced to the exact specifications of the original, ensuring a proper drop-in fit without modification. Honda supersedes parts at serial breaks, so verify your unit's serial number against the fitment table before ordering to confirm this is the correct shaft for your machine.
Key Features
- Genuine Honda OEM Part — sourced directly from Honda, this shaft matches the original component in dimensions and fit, eliminating the guesswork of cross-referencing aftermarket alternatives
- Broad Generator Compatibility — fits EB3500, EB5000, EB6500, EM3500, and EM5000 generators as well as EW140 and EW171 welder generators, covering a wide range of Honda portable power equipment
- Serial Number Awareness — Honda updates parts at production serial breaks; always cross-reference your machine's serial number with the fitment table to confirm part number 42740-ZB4-000 is correct for your specific unit
- Restored Mobility — a worn or damaged wheel shaft compromises the ability to reposition heavy generator equipment safely; replacing it restores smooth, stable wheel function
The left wheel shaft is the axle component on which the left-side wheel of the generator or welder generator rotates, allowing the unit to be rolled and repositioned. On heavy portable generators like the EB5000 and EM5000, the wheel kit is essential for moving the machine between job sites and storage, and the shaft is the load-bearing element that keeps the wheel seated and turning correctly. When this shaft bends, corrodes, or breaks, the wheel becomes loose or non-functional, making an otherwise portable unit difficult or unsafe to move.
