The Honda 54315-VE1-R00 Lever Stopper is a genuine OEM component designed for HRB217, HRC216, and HRX217 lawn mowers. As a direct Honda OEM part, it is manufactured to the same specification as the original, ensuring it seats and functions exactly as intended. This part is a straightforward replacement for worn or damaged units on these mowers, and confirming your mower's serial number against the fitment table before ordering is always a good step, as Honda does update parts at serial breaks.
Key Features
- Genuine Honda OEM — sourced directly from Honda, this Lever Stopper matches the original part in every dimension and material, so there is no guesswork about whether it will seat correctly in the control assembly.
- Broad Mower Coverage — fits HRB217, HRC216, and HRX217 lawn mowers, covering both Honda's residential and commercial walk-behind lineup.
- Serial Number Verification Recommended — Honda supersedes parts at production breaks, so cross-check your mower's serial number against the fitment table to confirm this is the correct version for your unit.
- Restore Positive Lever Action — a worn or cracked stopper allows the control lever to travel past its intended limit, which can cause imprecise engagement and accelerated wear on connected components; replacing it restores clean, definite lever travel.
The Lever Stopper is a control-system component that physically limits the travel range of an operator lever on the mower's handlebar control assembly. By setting a firm endpoint for lever movement, it ensures that the operator's input translates consistently into the intended response — whether that controls blade engagement, drive, or another function — without over-travel or slop. When the stopper is cracked, deformed, or missing, lever feel becomes vague and the mechanism it governs may not engage or disengage cleanly, leading to unpredictable operation during use.
