The Honda 78107-YH6-000 Volute Case is a genuine OEM replacement designed for WH15 and WH20 water pumps. As a direct OEM component sourced from Honda, this part is manufactured to the same specifications as the original, ensuring the pump housing geometry is exactly right for consistent water flow and pressure output. Confirm your pump's serial number against the fitment table before ordering, as Honda supersedes parts at specific serial breaks and more than one variant may be listed for these models.
Key Features
- OEM Housing Geometry — as a genuine Honda part, the Volute Case maintains the precise internal profile the impeller spins within, which is what allows the pump to build and sustain delivery pressure
- Direct OEM Replacement — part number 78107-YH6-000 is engineered to install in place of the original without modification, restoring the pump to its designed operating condition
- Fits WH15 and WH20 Water Pumps — confirmed fitment across WH-series Honda water pumps; verify your serial number against the fitment table to ensure you have the correct variant for your unit
- Restores Pump Output — a cracked, damaged, or worn volute case disrupts the fluid path around the impeller, causing a loss of flow rate and discharge pressure; replacing it brings performance back to spec
The volute case is the snail-shaped housing that surrounds the impeller in a centrifugal water pump. As the impeller spins, it flings water outward into the gradually widening channel of the volute, which converts that velocity into pressure and directs the flow toward the discharge outlet. The shape and internal clearances of the volute are not incidental — they are what the pump's rated flow and head figures depend on. When the volute case cracks, erodes, or becomes damaged, the pump loses the ability to build pressure efficiently, resulting in reduced output or a pump that runs but delivers little water.
