The Honda 98079-56840 Spark Plug (B6E) is a genuine OEM replacement designed for the EM5000 generator. As a factory-sourced component, this spark plug is specified to Honda's exact heat range and electrode gap requirements for the EM5000, ensuring the engine fires cleanly and runs as intended. Verify your unit's serial number against the fitment table to confirm part number 98079-56840 is correct for your production range before ordering.
Key Features
- OEM Heat Range and Gap Specification — sourced directly from Honda, this spark plug carries the B6E designation that matches the ignition system requirements of the EM5000 generator engine, delivering consistent ignition timing and combustion efficiency.
- Drop-In Replacement — threads directly into the cylinder head with no modification, restoring the engine to its original starting performance and power output.
- EM5000 Generator Fitment — confirmed OEM fitment for the Honda EM5000 generator; check your serial number against the compatibility table to ensure this is the correct plug for your unit.
- Combustion Performance — a worn or fouled spark plug causes hard starting, misfires, and reduced output on a generator that needs to deliver steady power under load; replacing it with the correct OEM plug restores clean ignition.
A spark plug ignites the compressed air-fuel mixture inside the engine's combustion chamber, and the heat range encoded in the B6E designation is matched specifically to the thermal conditions inside the EM5000's engine. Running the wrong heat range — or a plug that is fouled, worn, or gapped incorrectly — leads to misfires, rough running, increased fuel consumption, and difficulty starting, all of which directly affect the generator's ability to deliver stable power output. Replacing the spark plug at regular service intervals with the correct OEM part keeps the combustion cycle efficient and the generator ready when it matters.
