The Honda 99201-ZE5-0480 Main Jet Set (#48) is a genuine OEM component designed for HRM21 and HRS21 lawn mowers. As a direct Honda OEM part, it is manufactured to the same specification as the original, ensuring the carburetor meters fuel at the correct rate for your mower. Verify your mower's serial number against the fitment table before ordering, as Honda supersedes parts at serial breaks and this listing covers specific production ranges of the HRM21 and HRS21.
Key Features
- Correct Fuel Metering — the #48 sizing is a specific calibration that governs the volume of fuel delivered at full throttle; an incorrect or worn jet causes rich or lean running, rough power delivery, and hard starting
- Genuine OEM Part — sourced directly from Honda, this set matches the original jetting specification for the HRM21 and HRS21 carburetor with no substitution or guesswork
- Fitment Coverage — listed for HRM21 and HRS21 Honda lawn mowers; check your serial number against the compatibility table to confirm the correct application for your unit
- Direct Carburetor Service — replaces the main jet as a set, making this part the right choice for carburetor rebuilds, deep cleaning services, or when a damaged or blocked jet cannot be adequately cleared
The main jet is a small, precision-calibrated orifice inside the carburetor that controls the flow of fuel into the engine under normal operating and wide-open-throttle conditions. The #48 designation refers to the jet's bore size, which is matched to the engine's displacement and airflow to achieve the correct air-to-fuel ratio. When a main jet becomes clogged, corroded, or worn to an incorrect size, the engine will run lean or rich, losing power, hesitating under load, or refusing to start reliably. Replacing the jet set restores accurate fuel delivery and brings carburetor performance back to Honda's original specification.
