Ordering OEM ensures you get the right part the first time without guesswork.
Key Features
- OEM-Matched Cranking Output — Built to deliver the correct torque and amperage draw required by the 6D16 diesel engine, ensuring consistent engagement every time.
- Direct-Fit Installation — Matches the original mounting configuration and electrical connections on the DCA-85SSM, so the swap is straightforward with no fabrication or adaptation.
- Confirmed DCA-85SSM Compatibility — Engineered specifically for the DCA-85SSM ultra-silent generator series; reference part number ME077796 when ordering to confirm fitment.
- Dependable Cold and Warm Starting — A properly functioning starter ensures the generator fires up on demand under load, preventing costly startup failures on the job.
- Electrical System Protection — Correct starter specifications prevent excessive current draw that can damage the battery, wiring harness, or ignition circuit over time.
The starter motor is responsible for cranking the diesel engine to initiate combustion. When the ignition is engaged, the starter draws current from the battery and spins the engine's flywheel ring gear at sufficient speed to allow fuel ignition and startup. On a machine like the DCA-85SSM, a failed starter means the generator cannot start at all, bringing operations to a halt. A worn starter may crank slowly or inconsistently, placing additional strain on the battery and electrical system with each attempt.
