Key Features
- Genuine OEM Quality — Manufactured to Genie factory specifications for the Perkins 104-22 engine, ensuring correct operating temperature range and dimensional conformity.
- Direct Replacement Fit — Engineered to install exactly as the original, with no cutting, adapting, or modification needed to mount correctly in the engine housing.
- Confirmed Fitment — Verified for use on the Genie Z-60/34 articulating boom lift equipped with the Perkins 104-22 engine.
- Engine Protection — A correctly functioning thermostat keeps the engine within its designed operating temperature range, helping prevent overheating and the associated mechanical damage that leads to costly repairs.
- Operational Safety — On an aerial boom lift, engine reliability directly affects platform safety. Replacing a failed thermostat with the correct OEM part restores proper thermal regulation and supports dependable machine operation at height.
A thermostat regulates engine coolant temperature by controlling flow between the engine and the cooling system. When the engine is cold, the thermostat stays closed, allowing the engine to reach its optimal operating temperature quickly. Once that temperature is reached, it opens to allow coolant to circulate and carry away excess heat. A thermostat that sticks closed causes the engine to overheat, while one that sticks open prevents the engine from reaching proper operating temperature — both conditions reduce performance and can cause engine damage over time. Replacing a faulty thermostat with the correct OEM part restores proper thermal management to the Perkins 104-22 engine.
