Key Features
- Genuine OEM Quality — Sourced directly from Genie, this thermostat meets the exact material and dimensional standards of the original Perkins 403D-11G engine component.
- Direct OEM Replacement — Designed to drop in as a direct replacement for the original part, with no additional modification required to install correctly.
- Broad Light Tower Fitment — Confirmed fit for Genie AL4000, AL4, and RL4 portable light towers equipped with the Perkins 403D-11G engine.
- Maintains Correct Engine Temperature Regulation — A properly functioning thermostat keeps the engine operating within its designed temperature range, protecting engine components and sustaining consistent output during extended jobsite use.
- Replaces a Wear-Prone Engine Component — Thermostats are subject to wear over time; a failed unit can cause overheating or under-temperature running, both of which can lead to engine damage or shutdown on a light tower.
A thermostat regulates coolant flow between the engine and the cooling system to maintain the engine's optimal operating temperature. When the engine is cold, the thermostat remains closed to allow the engine to warm up quickly; once it reaches the correct operating temperature, it opens to allow coolant to circulate and carry away excess heat. A thermostat that sticks open, sticks closed, or fails to open at the correct point will cause the engine to run too cold or overheat, both of which can shorten engine life and trigger shutdowns — making prompt replacement with the correct OEM part essential to keeping a light tower running reliably.
