The Bomag 05729351 Turbocharger is a genuine OEM component designed for Bomag single drum rollers across the BW 216, BW 219, BW 220, and BW 226 series. Sourced directly from Bomag, this turbocharger carries the same specifications as the unit installed at the factory, ensuring a correct fit on models including the BW 226 DH-4, BW 219 D-5, BW 219 DH-5, BW 216 PDH-4, and BW 226 PDH-5, among others. When a turbocharger fails, engine output drops sharply and the machine can no longer deliver the compaction force needed for soil work — replacing it with a verified OEM unit gets the roller back to full operating capability. Confirm part number 05729351 against your machine's serial plate before ordering to ensure compatibility with your specific variant.
Key Features
- OEM-Grade Boost Performance — manufactured to Bomag's exact turbine and compressor specifications, delivering the correct airflow and pressure ratio your diesel engine depends on for full-rated output
- Direct-Fit Installation — matches the original mounting flange, oil feed and drain ports, and exhaust inlet geometry for a straightforward swap on compatible BW-series single drum rollers
- Broad BW-Series Coverage — fits a wide range of Bomag single drum rollers including the BW 226 DH-4, BW 219 D-4, BW 219 PD-4, BW 219 DH-4, BW 216 DH-4, BW 216 PDH-4, BW 219 PDH-4, BW 226 PDH-4, BW 220 D-40, BW 219 D-5, BW 219 DH-5, BW 226 PDH-5, and BW 219-5
- Restored Engine Power — a functioning turbocharger maintains the combustion efficiency required to achieve specified drum force and travel speed; a worn or oil-starved unit causes sluggish performance, excessive smoke, and potential engine damage
- Genuine Bomag OEM Part — supplied as an authentic replacement under part number 05729351, eliminating uncertainty about dimensional and material compatibility
A turbocharger uses exhaust gas energy to spin a turbine that drives a compressor, forcing more air into the engine's cylinders than atmospheric pressure alone would allow. This increased air charge lets the engine burn more fuel per cycle, producing higher power output from a compact package — essential for a large single drum roller that must generate significant compaction force across variable soil conditions. When the turbocharger wears or fails due to bearing damage, oil coking, or seal degradation, the engine loses boost pressure, output drops noticeably, fuel consumption rises, and continued operation risks damage to pistons and exhaust components.
