The Honda 12315-ZA0-951 Breather Tube is a genuine OEM component designed for the EX5500 generator. As a direct Honda replacement, this part is manufactured to the same specifications as the original, ensuring a correct fit without modification. If your generator is showing signs of crankcase pressure buildup or oil mist issues, verifying the condition of this part is a logical first step. Confirm your unit's serial number against the fitment table to ensure part number 12315-ZA0-951 is the right match for your machine.
Key Features
- Genuine Honda OEM — sourced directly from Honda, this breather tube matches the original specification for the EX5500 generator, ensuring the crankcase ventilation system functions as designed.
- Exact-Fit Replacement — engineered to connect and route the same as the original, this part drops in without the guesswork of adapting an incompatible component.
- Serial Number Verification Recommended — Honda updates parts at production breaks, so cross-check your generator's serial number against the fitment table before ordering to confirm part number 12315-ZA0-951 applies to your unit.
- Crankcase Health — a compromised or deteriorated breather tube can allow oil mist to escape or crankcase pressure to build unchecked, leading to oil consumption and potential sealing issues elsewhere in the generator.
The breather tube routes crankcase gases away from the engine's internal cavities, preventing pressure from building up inside the crankcase as the pistons move. On a generator like the EX5500, maintaining this ventilation path keeps oil consumption in check and protects gaskets and seals from being pushed out by excess pressure. When the breather tube cracks, collapses, or becomes blocked, the generator may begin consuming oil or develop external leaks — making this a small but important part of a well-running machine.
