The Honda 31171-Z00-003 Rear Housing is a genuine OEM component designed for EN3500 and EN5000 generators. As a direct Honda OEM part, it is built to the exact specifications of the original, ensuring a correct fit with no guesswork during installation. This Rear Housing is the right choice for restoring your EN3500 or EN5000 generator to proper working order.
Key Features
- Genuine Honda OEM — sourced directly from Honda, this Rear Housing matches the original component in every dimension, ensuring proper alignment and a secure fit within the generator assembly
- Exact Replacement — engineered to replace the original Rear Housing on EN3500 and EN5000 generators, eliminating the need for modification or fitting adjustments at installation
- Verify Your Serial Number — Honda supersedes parts at production serial breaks; confirm your generator's serial number against the fitment table before ordering to ensure part number 31171-Z00-003 is correct for your unit
The Rear Housing forms the structural enclosure at the back of the generator's alternator assembly, providing the mounting and protective structure that keeps internal components correctly positioned and shielded during operation. It works in conjunction with the front housing to contain the alternator's stator and rotor, maintaining the precise alignment these rotating components require. When a Rear Housing is cracked, broken, or damaged, it can compromise that alignment and expose internal alternator parts to contaminants, leading to poor generator output or premature component wear.
