The Honda 32612-Z5T-W00 Control Cover is a genuine OEM component designed for GX240, GX270, GX340, and GX390 horizontal shaft engines. As a direct Honda OEM part, it is manufactured to the exact specifications of the original and installs without modification. This control cover fits the full mid-range GX horizontal shaft engine lineup, making it a straightforward replacement for any of these four engines. Confirm your engine model and serial number against the fitment table before ordering, as Honda occasionally supersedes parts at production breaks.
Key Features
- Genuine Honda OEM — sourced directly from Honda, this cover matches the original in geometry and fit, so installation is clean and accurate on the first attempt.
- Broad GX Horizontal Engine Coverage — a single part number covers GX240, GX270, GX340, and GX390 horizontal shaft engines, spanning Honda's most widely used mid-range commercial engine family.
- Serial Number Verification Recommended — Honda updates part numbers at production serial breaks, so cross-check your engine's serial number against the fitment table to confirm this is the correct cover for your unit.
- Protects Internal Control Components — a correctly fitted cover keeps the controls it houses shielded from debris, vibration, and environmental exposure, preserving the function of the components beneath it.
The Control Cover is a protective enclosure fitted over the engine's control components — typically the wiring, governor linkage connections, or switch assembly depending on the engine configuration. It keeps those internal components shielded from dust, moisture, and mechanical contact during normal operation. When the cover is cracked, broken, or missing, the components beneath it are exposed to contamination and physical damage that can lead to erratic engine behavior or electrical faults.
