The Multiquip 5117401200 Air Breather Assembly is a genuine OEM component designed for the DCA40SSAI and DCA40SSI ultra-silent diesel generator series. Sourced directly from Multiquip, this assembly matches the original specification for a drop-in fit with no guesswork on compatibility. It is the correct replacement when the factory-installed breather shows signs of clogging, damage, or deterioration that affects engine crankcase ventilation.
Key Features
- Genuine OEM Filtration Media — manufactured to the same material and flow-rate spec as the original, ensuring the crankcase breathes correctly without allowing contaminants in.
- Direct-Fit Installation — mounts to the same port and uses the same hardware interface as the factory assembly, making swap-out straightforward in the field.
- Confirmed Fitment for DCA Series Generators — verified for DCA40SSAI and DCA40SSI ultra-silent diesel generator models.
- Protects Engine Longevity — a properly functioning breather assembly prevents pressure buildup in the crankcase that can force oil past seals, contaminate air intake passages, and accelerate engine wear.
- Genuine Multiquip Part — backed by Multiquip's OEM quality standards, giving you the same component that left the factory on a DCA40SS series machine.
The air breather assembly manages crankcase ventilation on the diesel engine powering your DCA40SS series generator. It allows pressure that builds inside the crankcase during normal combustion cycles to vent safely, while filtering out airborne particles that could contaminate engine oil. When this assembly becomes blocked or fails, excess crankcase pressure can drive oil into unintended areas, leading to oil consumption, seal failures, and smoke from the exhaust — all of which compromise generator output and engine service life.
