The Honda 34750-Z5T-W71 Electronic Control Unit is a genuine OEM component designed for GX340 and GX390 horizontal shaft engines. As a factory-sourced part, this electronic control unit is manufactured to the exact specifications Honda requires for correct operation in these engines. This part is a direct OEM replacement — confirm your engine's serial number against the fitment table before ordering, as Honda supersedes electronic components at serial breaks across GX340 and GX390 production runs.
Key Features
- Genuine OEM Ignition Electronics — sourced directly from Honda, ensuring the control unit delivers the precise timing and signal characteristics the GX340 and GX390 engines are engineered around
- Direct OEM Replacement — this control unit replaces the original on a like-for-like basis, keeping engine management intact without adaptation or improvisation
- GX340 and GX390 Fitment — confirmed for Honda GX340 and GX390 horizontal shaft engines; check your serial number against the fitment table to identify the correct unit for your build
- Restored Engine Control — a failed or degraded electronic control unit can cause erratic operation, no-start conditions, or loss of governed speed control; replacing it with this genuine unit restores normal engine behavior
The electronic control unit manages the ignition timing and related electrical signals that govern how and when the engine fires. On GX340 and GX390 horizontal shaft engines, this component coordinates ignition events based on crankshaft position, ensuring the engine starts reliably and runs within its designed power and speed range. When the control unit fails, symptoms typically include intermittent spark loss, failure to start, or uncontrolled engine speed — replacing it is often the definitive fix after other ignition components have been ruled out.
