The Honda 81371-VA3-J00 Upper Grass Catcher is a genuine OEM replacement designed for HR195 and HR215 lawn mowers. As a direct Honda OEM component, this part is manufactured to the same specifications as the original, ensuring a proper fit and consistent performance on the machines it is built for. Honda supersedes parts across serial number breaks, so verify your mower's serial number against the fitment table before ordering to confirm part number 81371-VA3-J00 is correct for your unit. This component restores the grass collection system to proper working order, keeping the mowing experience clean and efficient.
Key Features
- Genuine Honda OEM Construction — manufactured to the original design specification, so the Upper Grass Catcher mounts and latches exactly as the factory part did, with no trimming or adapting required.
- Correct Collection Volume and Shape — the upper catcher section maintains the bag's intended capacity and airflow geometry, which directly affects how effectively clippings are drawn in and retained during operation.
- HR195 and HR215 Fitment — engineered specifically for these Honda lawn mowers; check your serial number against the fitment table to confirm applicability for your specific unit.
- Restores Clipping Containment — a cracked, torn, or missing upper catcher allows clippings to escape the collection system, scattering debris and defeating the purpose of bagging; this replacement brings containment back to original performance.
The upper grass catcher is the top section of the two-part grass bag assembly on the HR195 and HR215 lawn mowers. It works together with the lower bag to form an enclosed collection chamber that captures and holds grass clippings as they are discharged from the cutting deck. When the upper catcher is damaged or deteriorated, the collection system loses its shape and seal, allowing clippings to blow back out or bypass the bag entirely. Replacing it with the correct OEM part restores the full capacity and airflow the system depends on for efficient, tidy grass collection.
