The Honda 81371-VA4-J00 Upper Grass Catcher is a genuine OEM replacement designed for HRA215, HRC215, and HRC216 lawn mowers. As an authentic Honda part, it is manufactured to the same standards as the original component, ensuring a direct, hassle-free fit without reworking or adapting anything on your mower. This upper grass catcher is confirmed compatible with all three mower models listed — always cross-reference your mower's serial number against the fitment table to ensure this is the correct part for your specific unit.
Key Features
- Genuine OEM Integrity — sourced directly from Honda, this upper grass catcher matches the original part in form and function, so clipping collection performance is restored exactly as intended.
- Direct OEM Replacement — designed as a drop-in replacement for the original upper catcher on HRA215, HRC215, and HRC216 mowers, with no trimming or modification needed.
- Broad Mower Compatibility — fits the HRA215, HRC215, and HRC216 Honda lawn mower lineup; verify your serial number against the fitment table before ordering, as Honda supersedes parts at serial breaks.
- Clipping Containment Restored — a cracked, torn, or misshapen upper catcher allows clippings to escape the bag system, leaving an uneven discharge and a messier cut; replacing it brings the collection system back to full efficiency.
The upper grass catcher forms the top section of the two-piece bag assembly on these Honda walk-behind mowers. It works together with the lower bag to fully enclose clippings as they are discharged from the deck, keeping the collection system sealed and ensuring a clean, contained cut. When the upper catcher cracks, warps, or loses its shape, the seal between the two halves breaks down, allowing clippings to blow back onto the operator or scatter across the lawn — replacing this component restores the bag system to proper working order.
